Desktop instructions session with interviewer

Step 0 - Only for Mac-users

Do you have an Apple computer? If so, you often need to do some setup to make the session run smoothly. 

1 - Open System Preferences
2 - Click on Security settings & Privacy
3 - Click on Screen recording. Is the browser you use checked? If so, you don't need to do anything. If not, follow step 4. 
4 - Click on the 'Lock icon' in the lower left corner and enter your password. 
5 - Check the box next to your browser
6 - Close the screen
7 - Restart the browser

You have now completed all steps. 

Step 1 - Login on dashboard

Go to dashboard.usersense.io to log in with the email address you received the invitation on.

Can't remember your password or still need to verify your account? Then request a new password or verification link through this page. 

Are you logged in? Then you will see the session you have been invited for on the dashboard. Click on the orange Start button to enter the session. 

Note: the orange button will only appear 15 minutes before the session starts. 

Step 2 - Enter lobby and check your mic and camera

You are now in the session room. In this room you can test if your webcam and microphone are working. Is this the first time you are participating in a live session? Then we will ask you for permission. 

Do you see yourself on the left and the sound waves from your microphone on the right? Then the functionality works. If you are satisfied with the current setup, click on the orange 'To lobby' button.

Are your webcam and microphone not working and do you have a Mac? Then you probably need to adjust your privacy settings. To do that, go through the following path: System Preferences -> Security & Privacy ->. On the left you will see 'Camera', 'Microphone' and 'Screen recording'. Make sure your browser has permission at these three parts. 

Step 3 - Start session

You are now in the lobby. You will see two icons here. Both icons turn green the moment you and the researcher are present. The moment both icons are green, an orange button appears with the text 'Start session'. 

Click on the 'Start session' button to start the session. The recording will start from that moment. It may take a few seconds before you see the researcher. Have fun!
